When I look at this journey I am on, I can see why my love of photography is such an integral part of who I am.  My interests of the past and today; my great love of family and my talents all seem to merge together to define who I am as a photographer.  Portrait photography has become my first love as a photographer simply because I love working with people.   As I mention on my home page, I love to find the special moment or feeling that someone is experiencing and capture it through my camera.

I have recently discovered that I love to photograph events.  Whether it is a formal sit down dinner or a backyard cook-out celebration, I love to get in the middle of it all with my camera.  Please check out my Events drop down on my home page for a few examples.

That does not mean given the chance to hop in a car or board a plane to someplace special is not exciting.

I love to travel!

I will be the first to admit I am a self-proclaimed non-techie.  Learning all the properties of my cameras or how to build this web site does not come easy.  It is all painstakingly learned through the many workshops and classes needed to achieve.  What I also know is I am very lyrical in my work.  Maybe it’s because of all my years studying ballet.  I don’t know.  However, I am always looking for the grace in an image.  It does not matter if it is a child, an adult of many years, a waterfall or a meadow.  I want to find the beauty in it all.

Please contact me if you are interested in a photo session near the Kingston, MA area and beyond.  I would love to be a part of your special moment.

My fine art images are available for purchase.

Have an amazing, wonderful day!

Crazy and I love it!

It's been almost two months since I posted in my blog!  The good news is I have been really busy with my camera (or computer).  I'm having so much fun with newborn, senior and family portraits.  I even assisted at a beautiful wedding. The main reason I have to be able to catch up with all of you is because we have had rain for the last five days.  We've been dealing with such a drought for most of the summer and God has a wonderful way of evening things out.  So the rain is a blessing.  However, I had to postpone two family sessions for this weekend because of the weather.  You will see their pictures in a few weeks since we have rescheduled.  For now, until this Thursday I can catch up with so much, including this blog.

Here are a few of my new friends!

I'll start with the precious little baby boy.  Finn was the perfect "model"!  He and I could have kept going for hours.  It was when I looked over at his poor parents who were of course quite tired and very warm since I have to keep the studio area heated for the baby, I knew I had to call it quits.  Finn was only ten days old when his pictures were taken.

I love this little boy!

Next meet Eila.  I loved working with Eila for her Senior Portraits.  Outside of being so, so pretty, she was very sweet and kind.  We worked so well together!  At first, as most seniors are, she was a little nervous.  Then the magic began.

There is a reason this picture is on my home page.

p.s. The bracelet is a gift from her grandmother.

Now meet the Grant family.  Dad and his kids were so much fun to work with!  Two are twins and seniors in high school. One is in college.  Isn't it wonderful to capture this moment in time?  All three were so easy to work with and fun.

Dad, I know is so proud and rightfully so.

Then one more for now.  I had the honor to assist photographer Diane Gulla at a lovely wedding for Kate and Billy.  This was such a storybook wedding, down to the very last detail.  Kate and Billy's love for each other was seen not only between them, however in every moment of the day.  Kate and Billy I wish you many years of happiness.

I love what I do!

Oh the Sunset!

Everyone once in awhile I will be out with my camera and amazingly everything will fall into place.  I'm still so excited inside by this image!  I was planning to shoot the sunset and I had a new place in mind.  Well place number one did not work.  I just wasn't feeling it.  So I go in the car to location number two.  I love the location, but the sun was setting behind a big patch of trees and that wasn't going to work.  Now I'm racing against time and it finally clicked where I needed to be.  There is a beach at the very tip of Hull, MA called Hull Gut.  I got out of my car at the perfect time and there it was.  Not only the Boston skyline off in the distance, but the clouds were perfect!  Add that to God supplying beautiful sunset rays peeking through the clouds and I was all set.  Now all I needed was something in the foreground to add interest.  A sailboat!!  She just glided right into my frame and I fired away.  At times like this, when everything works, I have one of my happy moments.  I am so blessed!  You may also see this image under Fine Art 1 (titled "Beaches").

If you visit "Beaches", don't forget to click slideshow and turn on your speakers.

Finding Peace in Vermont

June 21, 2016  •  Leave a Comment

I always find that once I cross the border from New Hampshire into Vermont my mind and body starts to find a calming place that I really can't describe.  I call Vermont my de-stress state.  Twenty eight other photographer friends and I recently stayed in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont for a long weekend.  The trip was a fundraiser for a dear photographer friend of ours who is battling stage four brain cancer and is unable to work or drive.  He's not only a great guy, but a masterful photographer.  Luckily for all, he was well enough to join us.  We spent our days taking our cameras to some of the most beautiful spots in the state.  It's always a special experience to be with other photographers, sharing our knowledge and passion.  We also manage to find great places to eat and have many, many laughs.  I have never been in this region during the summer.  This has always been an autumn excursion for us.  Some of my autumn pictures from the Northeast Kingdom are on my Fine Art drop down, under "Finding Peace in Vermont".  Don't forget to hit slideshow and have your speakers turned on.

Here are a few of my favorites from that weekend.
