When I look at this journey I am on, I can see why my love of photography is such an integral part of who I am.  My interests of the past and today; my great love of family and my talents all seem to merge together to define who I am as a photographer.  Portrait photography has become my first love as a photographer simply because I love working with people.   As I mention on my home page, I love to find the special moment or feeling that someone is experiencing and capture it through my camera.

I have recently discovered that I love to photograph events.  Whether it is a formal sit down dinner or a backyard cook-out celebration, I love to get in the middle of it all with my camera.  Please check out my Events drop down on my home page for a few examples.

That does not mean given the chance to hop in a car or board a plane to someplace special is not exciting.

I love to travel!

I will be the first to admit I am a self-proclaimed non-techie.  Learning all the properties of my cameras or how to build this web site does not come easy.  It is all painstakingly learned through the many workshops and classes needed to achieve.  What I also know is I am very lyrical in my work.  Maybe it’s because of all my years studying ballet.  I don’t know.  However, I am always looking for the grace in an image.  It does not matter if it is a child, an adult of many years, a waterfall or a meadow.  I want to find the beauty in it all.

Please contact me if you are interested in a photo session near the Kingston, MA area and beyond.  I would love to be a part of your special moment.

My fine art images are available for purchase.

Katherine and Zachary's College Graduation

June 16, 2016  •  Leave a Comment

As I have said before, I love working with people.  I love photographing people and I love capturing the special moments in a person's life.  What an honor and an absolute treat for me to capture all the special moments of Katherine and Zachary's college graduation party!   Brother and sister both graduated this year and the party was filled with so much happiness and love as family and friends joined in to congratulate the graduates.  It was such a diverse "job", because I had the chance to do it all!  Families wanted spur of the moment group portraits.  Friends wanted group portraits.   Proud mom of course wanted a few special portraits of her son and daughter.  Then I rounded it all out with lots of candid moments that tell the story.  This was such a great day, not only for all attending, but for me as well.  I think I have found a new favorite thing to do in photography.  I love events!  Congratulations Katherine as you begin your career as a phlebotomist at a leading hospital.  Congratulations Zachary as you begin your career as a Marine.  Thank you for your service.  Here are a few collages I created to capture the day.

Women's Business Connection Twentieth Anniversary

I had the honor to photograph the twentieth anniversary of the Women's Business Connection of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce at Lombardos recently. These amazing women have dedicated their purpose of equality for women in the workforce. The strides they have made are vast and yet they admit there is more to be done. I salute them all for their belief and dedication.  Here are a few collages of this very special event.

Costa Rica

Costa Rica!  What a beauty!  We just came home and since I live in the Northeast where the winter cold just does not want to leave us, I find myself longing for the dry, 95 degree days.  I fell in love with this country.  The beauty is everywhere.  The people are so friendly and I have never seen such a clean environment.  We stayed on the Pacific coast in the Guanacaste region.  It is dry season now, so we spent 10 days enjoying the sun and warmth.  The beach we were on is Playa Flamingo and is considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica.  I can see why.  The sands are so pure without any rocks, seaweed or shells.  It is just pure sand and warm water.  The sunsets were the most beautiful I have ever seen.  Just before sunset our resort would play a calming flute music which would draw people to the beach.  We would all just stand there and watch the colors of the vanishing sun while the music played in the background.  Magical!  We took a few tours, one being a 17 hour trip to Arenal Volcanic National Park.  This rain forest is so stunning and I wish I could go back and spend more time.  If you ever go to Costa Rica, I highly recommend staying in this area at least for a few days.  All in all, we saw at least a little of everything.  The wildlife, the lush flora, beautiful beaches, a coffee plantation, as well as sugar cane, watermelon and canteloupe plantations.  Of course my husband and I always had our cameras with us.  Here are a few examples.  If you would like to see more, please go to my home page.  Click the Fine Art 2 drop down and you will see Costa Rica.  To enjoy the full experience, click "slideshow" and turn up your speakers.  Pura Vida!

Waiting

April 13, 2016  •  Leave a Comment

This was taken a few weeks ago while winter was still on the edge and the hope of spring around the corner.  Shot at dawn at the beach, I just love the story with this picture.  Granted this is my story and the beauty of art is, someone else, maybe you will see a different story.  I look at the home still closed up for the winter.  Abandoned.  However with the warmth of the sunlight brings a new season where windows will be opened and the owners will once again prepare for the summer months.  There will be sand on the floors and beach towels hanging to dry.

 For today though, we wait.

Sheri and Luigi

Because of my surgery, it's been almost a year since I have been able to get back into what I love best.  That is portraits.  I had the absolute pleasure and honor to photograph Sheri and Luigi's engagement pictures this past December.  I've known Sheri for quite a few years and now with Luigi they make such a great couple.  As I have said in the past, when I first begin a photo shoot most people are a little shy and uncomfortable "posing" in front of the camera.  However it doesn't take long for them to really get into it and just relax.  I explain that I will pose them, however again, it's those moments in between that are natural and real that usually are the winners.  Sheri and Luigi were so much fun!  They caught on quickly and before long we were firing away, with them just being themselves.  Which happens to be a very awesome couple!  I wish them both many years filled with the love that they feel today, and then some.
